Here is a beautiful Tawny Emperor Butterfly (Asterocampa clyton) that I found hanging out in the woods. This is one of the few butterflies that I have come into contact with that has been friendly. He just sat there slowly raising and lowering his wings and allowed me to take a photo.
They apparently like tree sap, human sweat, dung, but very rarely visit flowers.
